Mineral analysis in forages – LaserAg Quantum

In partnership with Logiag, Eurofins EnvironeX has validated a new method of mineral analysis and is now ready to offer it for your forages.

What is this new technology?

The LIBS technology (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) is a laser induced plasma emission spectrum. It allows to obtain a quantitative result of the elemental chemical composition of a sample The validation has been performed for the following minerals Ca K, Mg, P and S and we plan to complete the validation of other minerals soon.

What are the advantages of using this method of analysis?

Quality results

Mineral analysis by LIBS offers a high precision, similar to that obtained by wet chemistry, compared to a lower precision obtained by infrared analysis. LaserAg analysis will therefore offer you quality results and will allow you to properly monitor your herd's feed.

Quick analysis

The LaserAg mineral analysis is performed on a sieved portion of the same ground sample that is used for the infrared analysis. You will therefore obtain your results simultaneously with the infrared results, within 24 to 48 hours.

Green analysis

No environmentally harmful compounds are used in the preparation of samples for LIBS analysis, unlike conventional wet chemistry analysis Only a recyclable plastic cup is used.

At Eurofins Environex, LIBS technology is at the heart of the R&D and we are working to offer you other parameters very soon We expect to be able to give Na and Cl as early as September 2021 and other minerals will follow thereafter Total carbon analysis in soils will also be available this fall.
