Chemical Analysis and nutrition labelling
Our laboratories provide personalized services that meet nutritional labelling requirements. Our professionals and technicians work as a team to provide you with a fast and complete service.
In addition to testing, we can prepare a Nutritional Facts table of values that meets the requirement of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
We maintain a database that helps us calculate the individual nutritional value of various foods to determine the nutritional value of all dishes on a restaurant menu. The use of a database is complementary to the testing approach and allows us to meet all of your requirements.
Our laboratory specialists will help you target the parameters, dishes or foods that require laboratory testing, and by combining these with our database, we can produce the most accurate results possible.
We offer a wide variety of chemical testing on food products and we verify the raw materials as well as quality control of finished products such as:
- Water activity (Aw)
- Total dietary fibre
- Total fat
- Humidity—Total Solids
- Peroxide value
- Minerals (Ca, Na, K, Fe)
- Sodium nitrite
- Bone particles
- Fat profile
We also conduct components testing for U.S. and Canadian nutrition labelling:
- Specific fatty acid content
- Omega-3 and Omega-6
In addition, we conduct vitamin testing
- A (retinol, beta-carotene)
- B (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B9, B12)
- C (ascorbic acid)
- D (ergocalciferol, cholecalciferol)
- E (tocopherols)
